Lombardi refers to the province in the North of Italy, bordering Switzerland and the Alps. Its capital is Milan, the business center of the Italian peninsula. Established after the fall of the Roman Empire by the Lombards, a Germanic tribe, it is known for its verdant countryside, dotted with scenic lakes and magnificent villas.
The shade of green chosen for the room’s walls was inspired by an albergo (Inn) overlooking Lago Maggiore. The closet door is an original XVIII Century oak door, imported from a noble house. Furnishings include a traditional Italian desk and pieces of Italian earthenware selected to convey the feel of an elegant XVIII Century Italian villa.
